In all our class sessions we use the elements of art and principles of design, along with different techniques to develop and improve creative skills. We encourage and incorporate art appreciation and art history whenever possible. Students will engage in creative thinking, problem solving, self-expression – and fun!
Our younger students utilize a wide variety of mediums, while exploring a broad range of art experiences. Elementary classes include an “Art Smart” list with each art project your child experiences. Every elementary and teen student’s artwork is valued and showcased by mounting it on black backing board.
Classes run in 7-week sessions - fall, winter and spring. We recommend taking all 3 sessions for the full range of art experiences. The sessions are structured as a full year with lessons building upon one another, although the sessions may also be taken individually. We limit our class size to 8 students to allow for individual instruction and guidance. All supplies are included with class tuition.
Be sure to register early to secure your spot in class!
There is a $30 discount for registering for all three sessions. To reserve all three sessions, a non-refundable $25 deposit is required for session 2 and 3, with the balance due for each session according to our payment guidelines. We also offer a sibling discount of 10% off for each addition sibling, at your request. If at any time meeting the deadlines or fees is difficult for you, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to help!
Please let us know if your child is ill or unable to attend class. This way we can begin class as soon as possible since we try to wait to begin until everyone has arrived.
A friendly reminder to please try arrive on time, but please no sooner than 5 minutes before class begins, unless previous arrangements have been made. Also, please remind your child or teen to refrain from using phones or electronics during class unless requested for class use. Thank you!

In this class your child will enjoy creating in a wide variety of mediums and experiences! Throughout the 3 sessions, your child will learn drawing techniques and explore watercolor, acrylics, oil pastels, clay, paper sculpture, paper mâché, print making, assemblage and more! This class will emphasize the elements of art and some principles of design, as well as a few artists and some art history. Whether learning new concepts or improving their skills, your child will have fun expressing his or her creativity! For all skill levels, with individual attention to each child’s ability. This class will help your teen or preteen develop and establish foundational skills in drawing and painting. Throughout the 3 sessions, students will learn various techniques, such as contour drawing, sketch, portraiture, perspective, and print making. They will experience a variety of mediums including graphite, watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic, colored pencil and more. Our emphasis will be on two-dimensional art but may incorporate some three-dimensional elements. The class will use the vocabulary of the elements of art and principles of design, and will encompass some artists and art history. This class is for all skill levels, as students will be encouraged in their individual development. All supplies included.

Students will be taught with a focus on individual development, whether a beginner or advanced artist. All materials provided. Students can bring their own sketchbooks if preferred.
Additional instruction is available on an individual tutorial basis for a fee of $30 an hour. This tutorial time can assist a student in achieving their goals, whether personally or in enhancing their art portfolio for the purpose of acceptance to art school.
